About Us

Our farm has been raising quality game birds and eggs for the past 30 years. We only use the best quality breeders available and deliver the highest quality eggs available. We are certified Pollorum/Typhoid and Avian free. Each year we hatch tens of thousands of eggs from our many breeders. We also manufacture egg shipping foam for both quail and pheasant.  We are also a GQF and Brinsea retailer and proud to offer those products at discount pricing.

Each year we hatch hundreds of "Easter" chicks as shown above.  Our most popular colors are Red, Green, Blue, Yellow, Orange and Purple.  We also developed a special dye for neon colored chicks that actually glow in the dark!  No birds are harmed in the process.  We also take many of our incubators to the local schools each year to teach the kids about the hatching process.  Over the years this has become very popular.  We have been featured in several magazines including Game Bird Gazette, Ag Monthly Magazine and recently in the January 2009 issue of the Virginia Wildlife magazine.  In this issue we were featured with our local school system which we assisted in hatching, raising and releasing quail.  We would like to congratulate Eureka Elementary School for becoming Charlotte County's very first Virginia Naturally School!

All of our birds are raised above ground and on wire to prevent disease.  We currently have 14 Hova-Bators that we mostly use for schools, 5 cabinet incubators that each hold over 1,200 eggs and 6 Humidaire Commercial Incubators that each hold over 10,000 eggs.  During regular season we usually hatch an average of 5,000 chicks and ship 2,500 eggs on a weekly basis. 

We raise several varieties of quail here at our farm including Northern Bobwhite, Coturnix (Pharoah, Chocolate, Tuxedo, Texas A&M and Button), Gambel, California Valley, Texas Blue Scale and Tennessee Red Quail.  We also raise Mountain Quail.  This year we cut back on some of our birds as we focused on several new buildings, shipping foam and our new site.  If you are looking for something in particular please let us know.  Also be sure to visit our online Auction site on the main page of That Quail Place.  The forums in That Quail Place are an abundant source of information.  We currently average over 250,000 forum views alone per month and have been rated one of the best internet sites' for raising gamebirds!
